Just when I thought I couldn't be more of a fan of the MadeMe Rose leather biker jacket I saw this one of Nina Sky showed off her DIY talents by adding silver pyramid studs every and anywhere and I love it. It's nice to see a twist on a classic with the use of both the roses and the studs. Unfortunately I doubt I'll ever get a chance to do the same to this beautiful jacket since the it costs over $500!!!(A hell of a lot of money, espicially comming from a streetwear brand)

But the rest of their new collection is a bit more affordable, here are a few of my favourite looks from their A/W lookbook, all of which are out now, from Karmaloop (as usual).

I know it's been a while since I've posted but I've had abit of a mad couple of day s I've had to make alot of hard decisions and just havent been able to put my mind on blogging, there probally won't be that many blogs for the next couple of weeks cause I'm back to uni and will be without a laptop for a while since my one is MIA.

I don't know about you, but I'm kind of getting kind of sick of seeing Amber Rose's face everywhere, but I was extremely pleased to see this shoot, she somehow manages to bring this Jeremy Scott dress to life.

PS. I haven't forgotten about the fashion week posts, I've been working hard, and I've got some exciting things to show you lot.

PPS. The INSA Heels Collection was released this morning at 12:20......and consequently sold out in less than 2 hours! I'm so pissed, to be I probably wouldn't have been able to afford a pair, but it would have been nice to be able to pretend.

I want this dress, I've been on the hunt for a long sleeved maxi dresses. Its T by Alexander Wang, a basic diffusion line, and costs £100, which isn't a lot for Alexander Wang, but a lot for what is basically an extra large t shirt.
I can only hope that a highstreet store copies it sometime soon.

Bora Aksu x Sass & Bide

I loved this collection, the lace and net detailing it somehow managed to add a feminine touch to the more harder, masculine pieces such as the biker jackets and trousers, yet add a more edgier feel to the more feminine dresses and tops. The intricate webbing detailing has a touch of nature about it, reminiscent of a spiders web or a cocoon .

The gold accents and the floaty detail remind a lot of the of designs from the 80s, the cut out leggings continue the trend of abstract detailing, and is another instance in which we see cut out detailing being used on leg wear.

3 words, sequin hareem shorts, one of those things that I can see on the East London Club Kids scene. The rest of the collection had a distinctive Roman/ Medial feel to it, almost completely monotone except for the gold accents and detailing, my favourites were the harness/tutu top and the Aztec print hareems.

Day two is looking good, I'll add a more detailed review of the collections in the morning, very excited for tomorrow though, I've seen snapshots of the Ashish , Danielle Strutt and PPQ collections and they're fantastic, just waiting for more pictures to emerge... Sundays line up looks fantastic; Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, Betty Jackson, Nichole Farhi and Unique and more, a tribute to the hayday of LFWs with all the greats comming back home.

I'm Bringing Brand New Flavour In Ya Ear....

19 September, 2009

Sticking with the glove theme, the bestest DIY bloggers, 2BD have finally opened up shop, and as expected, it's all black everything with chains, spikes and studs everywhere, one of my favorites is the Gold Cone Stud gloves, which instantly reminded me of the Gucci Babushka studded ankle boots, the boots caused a huge stir and sold out in no time, and these gloves are no different, selling out in less than a week.

Looks like these wont be the winter gloves after all :-( But there are still loads of other styles still in the shop.

Now I'm just counting down the days till they have these in stock.

One of These Things Is Not Like The Others....

Top to bottom left (YSL, Ashish for Topshop), right (all Office)

I'm not to sure what to think about all of this, Office, as always have gone straight to the catwalk to get inspiration for their newest collection, this time YSL and Ashish for Topshop, the YSL cage boots inspired ones aren't actually that bad, I was never a fan of them, so these ones look a bit more wearable.

But the wedges, yuck! They look something that the Spice Girls used to wear, I know the Ashishx Topshop wedges were an aquired taste, but these are just ugly!

I've Seen That Face Before (Libertango).....

I'm not sure what it is, but I can't help but love anything with Grace Jone's face on it, so I got very excited when i saw this over at Your Eyes Lie (YEL), using her iconic album art and not much else.

I love seeing greyscale images against white backgrounds, especially on t-shirts, and YEL is the perfect place for this, they have hundreds of different designs for men & women, ranging from pop-culture to the obscene and everything in between, and best of all the designs all come in different styles from fitted to oversized with rolled sleeves, and cropped, so there's something for everyone.

Let Me See The One Finger Dance....

I'm in love these gloves that Drew Barrymore was seen wearing recently, they do kind of look like she wrapped her hand up in masking tape, but I still want them. I'm guessing that they're crazy expensive (and not very practical), still, paired with the fact that my house constantly feels like its 5°C has reignited my want for a pair of new gloves.

Top of my list is a pair of fingerless gloves, something less like my usual pair on the left and more like the Rodarte S/S 09 studded gloves, but then I find myself thinking that fingerless gloves kind of defeat the purpose of wearing gloves since your fingers are still gonna be cold!! but I still love them.

So I went on a little mission to find a pair of leather-ish gloves, trying to avoid the fingerless ones but I just couldn't help it. But I managed to find a few, any one of them I would be happy to own. Couldn't find any under £10 though, guess I'm gonna have to stop being a cheap skate and take a plunge with £10+ gloves, but I just know I'll end up loosing them.

one. Topshop, £15. two Etsy, £45!. three., £13. five. Topshop, £16. six., £13. seven. Pepe @ ASOS, £30 (Love these gloves, but I don't know if I can bring myself to spend £30 on gloves, since I know I'd probably lose them after a day)
eight. ASOS, £15. nine. 3.1 Phillip Lim. ten., £13. eleven. Topshop, £18.

Emilio De La Morena

Monochrome colours seem to be making a comeback for this season, just like NYFW, there is alot of one shoulder detailing, asymmetrical shapes and peplum silhouettes.

Just because......

There's no real reason for me posting this picture,I just felt like I had to share...

As you've probably noticed, I fell off with NY Fashion Week posts, but I got soooo bored so quickly. But luckily, London Fashion Week is now upon us, and I can't wait, the first two shows have already previewed, and it's looking good so far.

I'm definitely going to try to keep up with the collection this week, I promise!

...Love this Lanvin top, it's what made me fall in love with ruffles & one shoulder tops again.

Christopher Kane x Topshop

18 September, 2009

The Christopher Kane x Topshop Collection is out today online & in stores, I'm sure the alligator t shirt and dress are going to be a big hit because they are so similar to the A/W 09 gorilla dresses from last season.

I'm not fan of them just because the overall shape of them are not very flattering compared to the catwalk versions and the rest of the collection, but at £45 and £60 I know it won't be a problem for most, they're going to be everywhere.

The rest of the collection are surprising different the alligator pieces,a mixture of goth glam, with an abundance of studs, mesh and fringe, and loads of black juxtaposed with bright candy pink and vibrant yellows, with sweetheart necklines and cup detailing, once again edged up with studs and decal.

However, for me the stand out pieces are the accessories, I'm a sucker for anything with studs and fringe, so there isn't much not to love about the bags, especially the studded candy shell clutch. And as for the shoes, I wouldn't mind having any of them as part of my shoe collection, especially the mesh cut out sandals.

edit: Sorry this was so late in posting this, tried to post this using an automated thing which was supposed to post it a midnight of the day of the release but it never worked.
As I suspected, the alligator t-shirt is almost sold out, and its been less than 24 hours!

Working the Week...

17 September, 2009

It's Fashion week, and as expected, everyone's bringing out their best clothes, here's a selection of my favourite outfits from the past week.

First off, it's Drew Barrymore at the Whip It! TIFF premier, wearing this beautiful Alexander McQueen dress, I love the intricate print of the dress; it reminds me a lot of a Cathedral, very gothic. There's a lot going on with the dress, yet it's still quite simple, love it.

Angela Simmons turned up at the Tony Cohen show in white wrap shirt, and jeans, which she later changed a sequined skirt and a pair of the black Topshop x Ashish shoes.

Blake Lively on the set of Gossip Girl, wearing a floral mini dress paired with a cream cardigan, I know this sounds really weird but I really like the buttons on the cardigan more than anything. I recently got into sewing on vintage style buttons on to old cardigans, and it really breathes new life in them. Don't like the shoes though.

Melody from the PCDs, I don't know if I love or hate this outfit, but it still manages to work, something about the belt bugs me because it looks like it's not quite a belt/not quite a corset. But I like the way she's dramatically changed the look of an otherwise plain dress just through her accessories.

Lauren Conrad at the Philip Lim 3.1 Spring 2010 show, again simple, but I'm a sucker for peaches and musturd colours so I like this, and Lauren Conrad must have the best stylist ever, because she never has an off day.

I only posted this because of the clutch, not even a fan of the colour of it, the dress is ok, accessories are blah, but the clutch, its HUGE so its love from me.

EXTRA: just wanted to throw in this extra picture; not really a fan of A.Keys outfit, but I do love Rosci's (from 106 & Park), I love black full length jumpsuits; and the accessories add an extra touch.

Jimmy Choo x H&M Collection

Once again, Nitro:licous has hit us up with another exclusive, this time giving us a full look at the Jimmy Choo x H&M collaboration, contrary to prior reports, the collection includes clothes as well as accessories and shoes.

And for me, it's the clothes which make much more of an impact than the shoes, the one shoulder grey dress, playsuit and fringe jacket are a favourite, the shoes are still a bit bland for my taste, but I do like the suede grey cut-out booties, evrything else seems so plain.

We get to see the whole collection, including flats, heels, the over-the knee boots which I'm sure will be big hit, and some bags. Everything looks cool, should be interesting to see how the release goes, I have a feeling this is going to be one of the most successful designer collections ever. It's out on November 14, 2009, not sure which stores, but the info should be online soon.
