Save All You Kisses for Me....

27 November, 2009

Chanel Iman for H&M Magazine, Holiday 2009, by Terry Richardson.

I'm usally not really a fan of Miss Iman, but I can't help but love this shoot, especially the pearl necklace, I hope that's the real deal and not just some crafty styling.

What happens when you mix this:

with this:

.........

Well it looks a little something like this:
A little bit of the Jeffery Campbell Tick boots, meet the Topshop x Ashish Zebra wedges....

....Seen on the feet of The Harijuku Barbie herself, Nicki Minaj, on the set of a video shoo, which was a big surprise, I don't really think she does them much justice to be honest, but they're definitely very interesting.

I'm not sure if these are just a new, unreleased colourway of the JC Tick shoes, or if her stylist got a little stud happy and DIY'd these herself, but there's something in me that actually makes me really like them.

^^^I've had this song repeat for the past few days, who would have thought Nicki Minaj+ Dubsteep would end up like this (apparently this a demo for Rihanna, I could definitely imagine her on this )

I-I-I Go Hard.....

19 November, 2009

It's been quite a while since I've posted, and I have no excuse other than the fact that I have been extremely lazy, and haven't really felt as if I have much of worth to post, but hopefully that should change over the next couple of days.

But the past few weeks, Rihanna's face has been everywhere and for once her choice of clothes really caught my eye, (yes she dresses nice, but that's cause she has a stylist + a ridiculously large disposable income readily available to her +designers who would willingly give her free stuff) most of her outfits are crazy expensive, but kinda lack imagination, so I was pleasantly surprised to see her in clothes, that us poor people could actually afford. They're not as intriguing as her usual outfits, but it's interesting to see how well she's able to pull off more affordable/ "regular" pieces.

First off was the H&M Trend (peach label) jumper dress, I actually saw this in store and I didn't think much of it, but I liked the way she's paired it with the army boots and the fishbone necklace, not too sure about the LV bum bag though. The dress is still in store now, can't remember how it is, but I'm sure it's less then £40.

Another favourite was this cut out detailing LBD from Australian designers Funktional for £58 at Shop Nasty Gal (one of my favourite online stores, it's a mixture of Vintage items and Independent designers), it's another one of those cases, where a little a bit of detailing can make a huge difference to the everyday LBD. But something about the straps bother me, I've never been a fan of halter necks, but I guess it doesn't look too bad here.

Long & Short of it....

I think by now, we're all more than aware that chain harnesses are once again the new in thing in fact with ear cuffs, shoulder guards and even shoe chains, popping up all over Etsy and and the fashion blogs, it seems that body jewelry on a whole is set to have a huge comeback.

I've been loving all of them so far, but the thing that has really got interested has been Leg Cage, (yeah they sound about a weird) but they're one of the most innovative things I've seen in a while, although I'm still not entirely sure how you even get them to stay up, or how good they'll look on someone with the thicker legs, lol, but they can be made to fit, and would look over tights or leggings. So far, chainsoflove is the only person I've seen selling them, but I'm sure they'll soon be popping up in UO by the end of the year.

Love The Way My Ear-Rings

01 November, 2009

So after months & months of waiting I finally got my hands on these badboys, a couple of days a go, the King Tut earrings by Melody Ehsani (pictured above), and they were defiantly worth the wait, I've so many people have come up to me and asked where I've got them from, they are definately my favourite piece of jewelry ever, and it reminded me that I never actually got round to posting the finished product of the Fall 2009 Lookbook.

The collection contains loads of statement necklaces, over-the-top rings, and (my favourite) large, large earrings. Right now I would love to get my hands on any of the earrings and the gun chain ring, and the FUCK U necklace, just because I'm a sucker for anything with explatives. The new collection can be found at her site, whilst previous collections, including the King Tut Earrings can also be found on her site and at Karmaloop.com.

She's also releasing her second shoe collection at the beginining of next year which should be interesting, although I don't find her shoe collection as innovative as her jewelry it should be nice to see what she's got.
